Being transparent is the only way forward. The truth is that my content has been suppressed because I refuse to be quiet about the issues that matter. Whether it is standing up for trans rights, advocating for a free Palestine, or calling out political leaders who prioritize corporate interests over human lives, the cost of speaking out is often digital invisibility. However, this moment of suppression has also led to a profound personal realization about how we lead and how we encourage others to join the fight.

The Cost of Unapologetic Advocacy

In the current landscape of social media, there is a constant pressure to "sanitize" your message to stay in the good graces of the algorithm. I have chosen the opposite path. I have been vocal, and at times unforgiving, in my advocacy. I have stood firmly against the political games played by those who take money from interest groups like AIPAC while claiming to represent the people. I have been relentless because, as a Black trans woman, I have lived in the margins from the moment I began advocating for my own survival.

For many in my position, existence is resistance. When your very life is politicized, you don't have the luxury of "turning off" your activism. I have always been willing to pay the price for my words—even if that price is my livelihood or my safety. I have always been willing to die for this cause. But in my journey, I have had to learn a difficult lesson: I cannot expect that same level of sacrifice from everyone, and I shouldn't.

Moving from Shame to Grace

One of the most significant shifts in my perspective lately has been the realization that everyone is navigating this scary and dangerous moment differently. While I have been "unforgiving" in the past, I am learning to have more grace for those who are still finding their footing. We are all living through a time where speaking up can cost someone their job, their family’s security, or their physical safety.

Instead of shaming people for where they are currently at in their journey of consciousness, I am choosing to inspire people to increase their capacity. Shame is a tool that often shuts people down; inspiration is a tool that opens them up. This shift isn't about softening the message, but about changing the method of delivery so that more people can find the strength to stand up in their own time.

A Lesson in Capacity: The Buddhist Perspective

This evolution in my thinking stems from a Buddhist teaching that changed my life years ago. At a time when I was exhausted, broke, and overwhelmed by the weight of what I wanted to build, a friend gave me a piece of advice that I still carry today. They told me: "Don't chant to slow things down; chant to increase your capacity."

This lesson is more relevant now than ever. We cannot control the chaos of the world, and we certainly cannot control the corporations that own our digital town squares. What we can control is our ability to hold the weight of the moment. I am applying this to my audience now—I want to help you increase your capacity to care, to act, and to resist, rather than judging you for the capacity you had yesterday.

Reclaiming Power from the Algorithm

The reality of the "shadowban" is that it creates a barrier between the creator and the community. If you are relying solely on a feed to find the truth, you are at the mercy of a billionaire’s code. Meta and other platforms have the power to decide whose voice is "too radical" or "too controversial" to be seen. But we don't have to play by their rules forever.

I have realized that I cannot control whether you find me through a suppressed feed. What I can do is build a home where the algorithm has no power. That is why I am moving the heart of my work to a space that is direct, unfiltered, and free from corporate suppression. By moving to a dedicated platform like now.missross.com, the middleman is removed. It’s just my voice, my work, and my truth directly in your hands.

In a World of AI Agents: Intent > Identity

AI-powered bots aren’t just logging in anymore. They’re mimicking real users, slipping past identity checks, and scaling attacks faster than ever.

Thousands of companies worldwide trust hCaptcha to protect their online services from automated threats while preserving user privacy.

Now is the time to take control of your security.

Key Takeaways for Digital Resistance

  • Direct Connection is Key: Don't rely on social media algorithms to stay informed. Subscribe to newsletters and visit personal websites of the creators you trust.

  • Capacity Over Shame: Real change happens when we encourage others to grow their ability to help, rather than shaming them for their current limitations.

  • The Price of Truth: Understand that when voices go quiet on social media, it is often a sign of suppression, not a lack of activity. Search for those voices intentionally.

  • Existence as Resistance: For marginalized people, staying visible and vocal is a revolutionary act. Support that visibility however you can.

Actionable Insights: How You Can Help

  1. Opt-In Directly: Go to now.missross.com and subscribe. It is free to follow and ensures that no algorithm can block the connection between us.

  2. Share Manually: If you see a post from a creator you know is being suppressed, share it via direct message or email rather than just relying on a "like."

  3. Practice Grace: In your own circles, try to inspire others to increase their capacity for advocacy rather than using shame as a motivator.

Conclusion: The Future of Our Community

If you’ve been wondering where I went, I haven't gone anywhere—I’ve just been forced into the shadows by platforms that are afraid of the truth. But the shadows are where we regroup and build something stronger. I am not apologizing for my advocacy, and I am not backing down from my stance on trans rights, Palestine, or political accountability. I am simply changing the way we connect.

We are entering a new era of digital community—one where we own our spaces and our voices. I am choosing to lead with grace and to build my capacity to hold this movement. I invite you to do the same. Come find me where the algorithm can’t find us. Let’s continue this work together, directly and unapologetically.

On purpose,
